Even if people agree that liberty would make the world better, they're going to use force and violence against others. If for nothing else, out of boredom.
The world is destined for eternal war. And there will never be peaceful anarchy. There will always be restrictions on liberty.
The best we can is to try to make the best of things by keeping a constant fight against those who want to take away our liberty so we can retain as much liberty as possible. Complete liberty will never be had. Liberty feels good. But domination of other people feels good too. It's human nature to have this eternal conflict.
people accept it as objective rationalism... my law and econ. professor last semester justified war by calling it "efficient democratization". When I asked about whether our structural adjustment loans were mutually efficient for the countries who take on our debts my professor stammered into the next section.

I'll fight for his right to speak openly about his belief that, "we are pack animals who once hunted in packs."
I also believe, based on what he says, that he would FIGHT for my right to completely disagree with that and call it a lie that will lead him to eternal torment. He, I believe, would FIGHT against the oppressive, tyrannical government that says I can't call the religions of the world "paths to the destruction of billions of souls throughout the planet."
I can't change Adam's mind about what he believes and I can't, and don't desire to, force my beliefs on him in any way; as foolish and demonic a teaching that I think he is propagating. are going to burn in hell because they don't believe your creation myth. They are repulsed by you, because you think their feelings and opinions are "demonic". This hostile bigotry has caused enormous suffering. It has been used to justify the murders of billions throughout history. There is a big difference between you and Adam.
I really do appreciate your willingness to discuss these things. Please honestly answer this question: if what I'm saying, which is simply what the bible declares, is true, doesn't that necessarily mean that those who proclaim that message, in spite of the strong opposition by the masses, are the true friends and lovers of the society they are trying to warn and eventually see saved from the wrath that is to come upon the world?
In short, if it is not, as you say, a "myth of creation", then there will be MANY horrified people on the day of Judgement.
And IF that messenger is wrong, but still wholeheartedly believes what the bible says, which the Crusaders and those who currently make war and trouble in the name of God, (as seen by their barbarous actions) did NOT, what harm is there in simply dismissing the unpalatable portions of the message, and at least tolerating the "love you neighbor" part? After all, you don't want to live near a spiteful neighbor, but rather one who strives to treat you even better that he treats himself.
Sadly, you and the world have had you view of Christianity painted by the multitude of false Christians out there who, in word name Christ while, in deed, deny him.
You basically called me a hostile bigot. You certainly have the freedom to believe that. But it is untrue. After meeting me in person, you probably wouldn't mind having me as a neighbor. I don't bite, I'm not an angry man, I'd die to protect you and your family and, after telling you the good news of the gospel once, because I care about people's souls, I wouldn't keep trying to "shove it down your throat" as so many try to do.
Next, just because someone uses something to justify an evil action, doesn't mean that that action was justly carried out or that source that was claimed to have motivated that action was, in and of itself, evil. People use that same line of reasoning about Ron Paul. "The reason I'm voting for Romney", they say, "is because I think Ron Paul's foreign policy is unAmerican and his stance on social is wrong." Their justification for their wrong action is something that is actually good and constitutional.
Adam and I are very different people with different beliefs on this issue. But we are lock step, I believe , on the Liberty issue. And that is what we are fighting for, right?
Peace to you!

believe one creation myth among thousands. Christianity was NOT the first myth or group to explore morality. Your ability to judge people and view their perception of reality as demonic is sadistic. You are not capable of accepting the massive diversity that surrounds us all. You think us poor, ignorant, folks just need to have our "souls" saved by your beliefs. That is repulsive and clearly reveals bigotry.
You didn't answer any of my questions or address what I said. I find that when that happens, the person evading is not interested in honest, heart-searching discussion. So, who is "incapable of accepting massive diversity"? I guess, based on what you said, I am not "Freetoroam"!. You should think about changing your name since you don't appear to think everyone (or at least people like me) shouldn't be afforded such freedom.
If you are intolerant of my beliefs, as you have written, does that make you a "hostile bigot."
Please think about what you said. You really sound no different to me than a big Government Neo-Con. I don't say this to be hurtful, but to get you to look in the mirror, reflect on what you've written (and believe) in regard to Liberty, and truly seek the freedom that this site is supposed to be dedicated to promoting.

want to "save" our souls. Why can you "save" our souls? Why do you believe that is possible? Because you think your creation myth is the "truth". All other creation myths are demonic or flawed. These poor souls are in need of "saving" by you or your chosen God. If these souls are not "saved", you think they will burn in "Hell". This reasoning is not compatible with accepting diversity and it breeds violence and bigotry. History has made that obvious. No, I have no interest in debating you about your chosen creation myth. Peace to you!
known to be true -- that you have no interest in honestly debating about this issue. Good.
Now that we've overcome that obstacle and find that we have no ground for agreement, seeing you reject the gospel of the Bible and I reject the gospel of humanism; can we get to the business of fighting together for liberty?

If not on your part, please know that the doors wide open on my part.

not accepting your creation myth or even worse, my perception of reality is of the "devil". Your myth invalidates my personal choice in your mind. It makes my chosen creation myth demonic. This makes you untrustworthy and I KNOW you want a weaker Federal government because that weakness will allow you to spread the gospel easier. Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must. like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.-Thomas Paine
The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!
Thomas Hobbes' "Leviathan, or the matter, forme, and power of a commonwealth, ecclesiasticall and civill"
"In such condition, there is no place for industry; because the fruit thereof is uncertain: and consequently no culture of the earth; no navigation, nor use of the commodities that may be imported by sea; no commodious building; no instruments of moving, and removing, such things as require much force; no knowledge of the face of the earth; no account of time; no arts; no letters; no society; and which is worst of all, continual fear, and danger of violent death; and the life of man, solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short."
As per Wikipedia:
The social contract or political contract is an intellectual construct that typically addresses two questions, first, that of the origin of society, and second, the question of the legitimacy of the authority of the state over the individual.[1] Social contract arguments typically posit that individuals have consented, either explicitly or tacitly, to surrender some of their freedoms and submit to the authority of the ruler or magistrate (or to the decision of a majority), in exchange for protection of their natural rights. The question of the relation between natural and legal rights, therefore, is often an aspect of social contract theory.
How simple and petty your god is that he would give men a world of natural wonder and the brains to investigate it for themselves, only to send them to hell for not following the dogma of patriarchs thousands of years ago who knew not a fragment of what we know today.
What a prototypical example of a man-made god: hell is deserved for all who don't reckon the world exactly I do, based on MY selectively literal interpretation of old texts that've been mangled through generations of government and clergy whimsy.
I am grateful that, generation to generation, gods so simple will blink out of existence.
I don't think, I know! Further, I know that you and many others will know the flames of eternal doom as they forever devour you. This is all from the hands of the God you will not think is so "petty" on the day of judgement.
But there is no need for you to be upset or, from your perspective, even pay attention to the likes of someone so petty in thought as I. We do have a common belief, I trust. And that is that we continue to work toward breaking the bonds of our tyrannically-minded, Constitution-trampling overlords.
As I say, we are in deep disagreement on the existence of the God of the bible (I do not mean today's false Christian fluffy-bunny, babe in a manger, give me your money, Christmas "god"). However, we do agree that the political bands that currently bind is must be thrown off and new leaders instituted.

When injustice becomes Law; Revolution becomes DUTY!!
What men believe is a concern of men (and by extension a concern of petty, jealous, spiteful man-made gods). No creator but a mad one would judge men for what they believe rather than their integrity and good will.. why would God send men to hell by default no matter their character except through a specific dogma that he only introduced to them in a very tiny window of time in only certain areas of the world? That's absurd, and entirely undermines Christ's teachings by emphasizing the necessity of belief in his divinity rather than emphasizing the necessity of goodwill he professed to all..
But from a non-religious perspective...I've always found that any true investigation into "The Therory of Evolution" as opposed to the concept of adaptation and survival of the fittest within an established species...doesn't send one to Hell...it sends one back to the drawing board. Until species metamorphisis is proven, "The Theory of Evolution" is just as goofy as Adam and Eve.
With this said, such investigation does lead one to see specific design...the explanation for this, outside of popular literature, is of course quite unknown...but somewhat discernable...
I have been instructed and have performed remote viewing and astounded myself with what I was able to do so...I've learned to doubt everything I was told, and open up to other possibilities. There is definitely more to this universe than we are aware of. I have come to see that matter, the arrangement of energy in a particular form, is only altered by consciousness directing external energy to act upon it, or by conciousness supplying an alteration catalyst to existing internal energy structures of the matter. Who's conciousness is at work at any given time is the question...good luck with the answer.

Finally this election thing is over and we can get on with the collapse of our currency forthwith!
How is it possible that any new species arrives into existence if not from other species?
Were all species alive today plopped into existence at the same instant as the first microbe?
If not, did they all appear out of thin air?
It boggles me when the irreligious dispute what they distinguish as "macroevolution" without conceptualizing any alternative model. Deism's great but "god done it" as a fallback explanation for what you can't understand is no better than fundamentalism. God clearly created a framework for the universe to generate itself. He wouldn't jump in in the middle and pull some insta-magic to make life/species appear and propagate on the spot where appropriate.
I disagree that Utopia will ever arrive.

I take it you are a prophet?
I take it you are a prophet? You are speaking for God?
I am a mere mortal
reminding another mortal, one who would project the emotions of transient beings onto the eternal, of his place.
Funny...
From your non-religious perspective..
